IT’S TIME FOR WINTERING

OCT 19, 2015
If you don’t have a pool heating system, the water temperature has probably dropped to 15 degrees or under. This means it’s time prepare your pool for wintering.

Wintering is the process by which we prepare the water to keep it in good condition during the winter so that we can use it again next season.

Before wintering, you must follow a series of steps to keep your pool and water in good condition:

1. Clean the pool vessel by brushing the walls and bottom. Use the bottom cleaner to remove any remaining residues.

2. Clean the filter.

3. Do a shock chlorination to disinfect the water to the maximum.

4. The next day, analyse the pH level and adjust it if necessary.

The water’s now ready for wintering. Add wintering liquids according to the manufacturer's recommendations specified on the labels, and run the filtration system for about 8 hours.

Whenever possible, we recommend filtering for a couple of hours a day using one chlorine tablet for every 25 m3.

Remember that you must renew the application of wintertime liquids in mid-winter, approximately until January or February.

We also advise you to put a winter cover on your pool, to prevent the entry of dust, leaves, insects and dirt in general.
